Each student will c reate their own complete axe under expert individual instruction.\nThis co urse teaches traditional methods of axe forging that do not require advanc ed tooling or industrial machinery. The skills and knowledge gained can la ter be applied to almost any style of axe.\nAlong with the practical techn iques of forging\, you will learn axe history and development\, and the es sential design principles that distinguish a superior working tool.\n\n\n \nAxe Forging\n\n \nForge-welding\n\n \nAxe History &\; Design\n\n \nHeat-treating of steel\n\n \nSteel selection for axes\n\n \nSharpening \n\n \nHandle design and hafting\n\n\nAll tools\, materials and safety eq uipment are included. Students should wear sturdy footwear and cotton or w ool clothing.
